FAQs

Explore the common questions we receive about Home Study and see if a session is the right fit for your design questions.

  • Home Study is an intensive 1 day one-on-one session providing concise, focused design direction on a specific issue, room, or problem that you will then follow through on either by yourself or your chosen team, while full-service design is a lengthy, hand-in-hand service that walks you through each and every detail of a project regardless of size.

  • You can cancel your consultation within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund. Cancellations made more than 24 hours after booking are subject to a 50% refund, as your reserved time slot was held exclusively for your project and other inquiries may have been declined during that period. To cancel a consultation, email us at hello@studiohemma.ca

  • The studio offers a shorter 60-minute consultation option, which is perfect for those who just have a couple of questions or specific topics that might not fill an entire 1-day consultation. Click here to schedule your Home Study mini session.

  • Our most common requests are

    • Kitchen design: millwork layout, material selection, fixture selection, etc.

    • Bathroom design: floor plan layout, material selection, plumbing selection, etc.

    • Furniture and home decor selection and placement

    • Floor plan layout for a cohesive whole home

    • Paint/wall treatments

    • Construction and remodel ideas

  • Home Study sessions are structured to provide guidance and therefore cannot provide

    • contacts for trade vendors, contractors, or other personal contacts

    • providing precise measurements - any layouts, millwork design etc. is considered concept only and all dimensions must be verified by the client and/or their team before any work is initiated

    • procurement of any suggested items

    • overseeing any stage of construction

    • physical design deliverables beyond guidance and support (such as technical documents for permits, 3D renderings for construction etc.)

  • Each session includes a follow up 30 min virtual call, however, if more time is needed we also offer a mini Home Study session. For best results, gather a list of questions and topics you wish to cover prior to your session so that we can maximize our time and cross everything off your list.

  • In-home sessions are available for those located in the Greater Vancouver Area. If you’re unsure if you fit into that radius, email hello@studiohemma.ca and we’ll confirm if we can accommodate the in person session, or if the virtual route is your best option.

  • Yes, payment for your session is required to schedule your time in the studio’s calendar.
